A New You
Botulinum toxin, or Botox, is a neurotoxic protein that calms the muscles underlying the skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It blocks chemical signals from nerves, causing the muscles of the face to relax temporarily. Botox was the first drug to use botulinum toxin and is the gold standard of wrinkle alleviation. At Modern Aesthetic Centers in Jacksonville Botox is offered to our new and existing patients. Contact us today for a consultation!
Fine Line Alleviation
Botox is a highly effective treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and forehead lines. Botox is fast-acting and long-lasting. When you use Botox on a regular basis, you can experience the results for a longer amount of time. Botox is effective all over the face but is particularly suited to the forehead and eye area. Botox can also be used to treat brow ptosis, a condition in which the skin of the brow droops. Botox is a non-surgical procedure, meaning you have little to no downtime. Every procedure is performed by one of our experienced staff members, who have received rigorous training in aesthetic procedures.
No More Wrinkles
When you arrive at our office for Botox Jacksonville Modern Aesthetic Centers' highly-trained staff will work with you to determine a course of treatment that will help you achieve your desired results. Those clients who are 18 years old or older, in good health, not pregnant or nursing, and who are bothered by fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead are good candidates for Botox. While Botox can smooth most wrinkles and keep wrinkles and lines from appearing, it is important that you have moderately realistic expectations of your results. Those clients who suffer from or have a history of nerve damage or who have muscle conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis are not advised to have Botox injections.
Botox injections are some of the most common aesthetic procedures we perform and are a safe and effective way to diminish wrinkles. While you may have some initial hesitancy regarding the procedure, it really is a virtually painless and minimally invasive way to achieve a more youthful looking you. Tiny needles inject predetermined amounts of Botox into the affected areas. The Botox serum relaxes the underlying muscles of the face, thus smoothing the wrinkled areas. If you are bothered by needles or injections, discuss this with your aesthetic professional, and they can apply a topical numbing cream to the injection sites.
Long Lasting Results
Unlike fillers, Botox injection results are not immediately visible. Results from your Botox injections typically take a few days to begin to appear. Full results will take one to two weeks to be fully evident. Your skin will be smoother, and your natural beauty will be enhanced. Results will usually last around three to four months, but the results can last longer with regular injections.
While the results are dramatic and can reduce even the most difficult and deepest wrinkles, your face will not appear frozen or expressionless. You will look like yourself, only wrinkle-free!
Get Back to You
After your Botox injections, you may see small red dots at the injection site. These will disappear within a day or so. It is best not to lie down for at least four hours after treatment so that the Botox has time to settle. Do not rub or massage the treated area on the first day, and don’t engage in strenuous exercise for the first 12 hours. It is also important not to drink alcohol excessively during the first 24 hours. Alcohol is a blood thinner and could exacerbate bruising. You may feel flu-like symptoms, but this is rare. Some reddening at the injection site is also possible
Botox lasts approximately three to four months, so we advise you to get injections approximately every three months for best results.
The needles used to inject Botox are extremely small and cause very little discomfort. If you are afraid of the pain, which is more like a gentle pinch, we can apply numbing cream to your face to alleviate any discomfort you may feel.
